"In parallel with the process of liberating our territories, huge and very important events took place in the Black Sea. If we talk about this situation: 20 percent of the fleet of the Russian Federation no longer exists," Danilov said in an interview with "Voice of America" published on Wednesday.
He added that the impact extended beyond small vessels, targeting substantial ships deployed near the location where the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the Moskva, was stationed in April last year.
Danilov also recalled a recent operation on December 26, in which Ukrainian security forces attacked Russian landing ship "Novocherkask" in the port of Feodosia in occupied Crimea. The ship was successfully destroyed by missiles launched by Ukrainian aircraft, with Russia claiming more than 30 sailors “missing”.
