The ministry said 204 artists and 108 Ukrainian and foreign media workers have died since February 2022, calling the figures evidence that Russia is deliberately targeting the country’s cultural elite.
"These artists were the pride of our nation ... a part of our soul," the ministry said, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.
It noted that journalists reporting from Ukraine were working under dangerous conditions, producing essential news, investigations and documentation of the war to inform the global community.
"Media workers are collecting undeniable evidence of the invaders’ crimes around the clock and shedding light on the strength, heroism and courage of our defenders," the ministry said.
It added that Russia's systematic crimes against journalists posed a serious threat to freedom of speech and information security, undermining democratic values and human rights, Ukrinform reported.
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.
Friday is day 1,192 of the war.
