The Ukraine National Police reported this on social media.
"Investigators and forensic experts continue to examine the body fragments that were seized at the sites of the Russian missile strikes. We managed to identify two more victims: a seven-year-old boy in Rivne and a 14-year-old boy in Pokrovsk" - the statement said.
It is noted that 11 people, including five children, became victims of these two particular unlawful Russian attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine. As of today, police have named nine of the dead - and two more children that were killed remain unidentified.
According to Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office - the Russian army killed more than 520 children and injured over 1,200 more since the start of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. On top of that, tens of thousands of Ukrainian children were also kidnapped into Russia by the invaders. These numbers may be significantly higher though, as incoming reports from hostility zones, temporarily captured and recently liberated territories are being verified daily.
Russia first illegally invaded Ukraine in 2014 - and has occupied a significant part of the country ever since. On February 24, 2022, Moscow took things further - mounting an unlawful and unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine by launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
The United Nations reported that since the full-scale invasion started, Russians have killed more than 10.000 civilians in Ukraine, breaching numerous international laws in the process. The given number is based upon the verified casualties only - and the UN points out that the real bodycount of civilian victims of Russian aggression might be significantly higher.
Saturday is day 710 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
