Highlighting the significance of firsthand experience in the Ukrainian conflict in an interview with the Polish Press Agency, Zbigniew Parafianowicz stressed that Poland's participation would enhance its understanding of regional dynamics.
"We have lost a lot of time regarding the war in Ukraine. Poland should participate in the training mission in this country and gain firsthand experience," he said.
Parafinowicz explained that Poland's participation in the training mission would build up its military's understanding of the region's theater of war "to learn what is happening there. Gain firsthand experience, knowledge, and information. Participating in this training mission would be advisable and would bring only benefits to the Polish state."
Parafinowicz is an experienced foreign correspondent who covers the countries of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
The invitation to the mission, extended by France and excluding Germany, aims to bolster Ukrainian forces on their soil. While Italy and Spain are hesitant, and despite some European reservations about escalating tensions with Russia, French President Emmanuel Macron anticipates swift action from the participating nations.
On Friday, John Kirby, U.S. National Security Council spokesman, announced that the United States did not intend to send its troops to Ukraine. Over the weekend, President Macron reported that several countries had accepted an invitation to form the training coalition. "We are not alone and will activate this coalition in the coming days," Macron stated.
