"The Americans are proposing that the parties end the war before the start of this summer, and will likely pressure the parties to adhere to this schedule," Zelensky said, according to the Reuters news agency.
His remarks were released to reporters by his office after two days of US-brokered talks between Ukrainian and Russian officials in Abu Dhabi.
Zelensky said Washington had proposed another round of talks in Miami next week. He added that Kyiv accepted the plan.
The Abu Dhabi talks ended without a major breakthrough, but the two sides agreed to exchange 157 prisoners of war each, resuming swaps after a five-month pause, according to reports.
Zelensky said prisoner exchanges would continue.
He said military teams discussed in detail technical aspects of how a potential ceasefire could be monitored.
Talks also covered security guarantees for Ukraine and possible economic cooperation, including a postwar recovery framework referred to by officials as a "prosperity plan," according to Zelensky.
He said Ukrainian intelligence had reported on discussions in which Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev proposed US-Russian economic cooperation deals worth up to USD 12 trillion.
Any such agreements between Moscow and Washington must not violate Ukraine’s constitution, Zelensky said, as quoted by Reuters.
He also said Ukraine and Russia remained far apart on territorial issues, Reuters reported.
He added that the United States had proposed establishing a free economic zone in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, an idea he said neither side found appealing.
