Polish presidential election results in the UK show shift in voter preferences

Rafał Trzaskowski won the Polish presidential vote in the United Kingdom, with growing support for far-right candidates Sławomir Mentzen and Grzegorz Braun compared to the previous election.

Trzaskowski, representing the Civic Coalition, received 35.9% of the vote (43,089 ballots cast), a decline from his 2020 performance of 48.4%. Mentzen, the Confederation candidate, came in second with 18.8% (22,612 votes), followed by Braun with 14.5% (17,346).

Karol Nawrocki of right-wing Law and Justice (PiS) party came fourth, earning 13.4% (16,034 votes) - a weaker showing than former President Andrzej Duda’s 15.5% five years earlier.

Left-wing candidate Magdalena Biejat placed fifth (5.5%, 6,593 votes), just ahead of fellow Left candidate Adrian Zandberg (4.7%, 5,627).

Szymon Hołownia, who placed second in the UK in 2020 with over 17%, dropped to seventh place with just 3.6% (4,250 votes).

Other candidates, including Joanna Senyszyn, Krzysztof Stanowski, and Marek Jakubiak, received minimal support.

A total of 120,856 Poles voted in the UK, with 120,006 valid ballots counted. The Polish diaspora in the UK is estimated at around 800,000, including minors.

Polish Americans and Canadians back right-wing candidate in presidential vote

Polish voters in the United States and Canada largely backed Karol Nawrocki, the right-wing candidate in Poland's presidential election, according to official results from polling stations abroad.

In the United States, Nawrocki secured 42,3% of the 38,175 ballots cast, followed by pro-European centrist Rafał Trzaskowski with 29,98%. Far-right Grzegorz Braun came in third with 12,35%. Other candidated included Sławomir Mentzen (7,16%), Magdalena Biejat (2,21%), Adrian Zandberg (2,14%) and Szymon Hołownia (1,68%).

In Canada, where a total of 10,907 votes were cast by Polish nationals, Nawrocki performed even better winning 42,65% of the vote. Trzaskowski again came second with 27,73%. In third place was far-right candidate Grzegorz Braun with 17,58%.

Other candidates trailed significantly: Sławomir Mentzen won 5,75%, while left-wing contenders Magdalena Biejat and Adrian Zandberg received 1,50% and 1,49%, respectively. Szymon Hołownia was the last candidate to exceed 1%, wining 1,02% of the vote.
