One dead, eight hurt after tremor in Polish coal mine

The tremor at the Mysłowice-Wesoła mine in Poland’s southern Silesia region occurred some 865 metres underground at around 8:35 p.m., public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The injured miners were taken to nearby hospitals, state news agency PAP reported.

Officials have sent their sympathies to the family of the victim and wishes of a quick recovery to the injured.
