Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Paweł Wroński said the agreement follows a meeting between Poland’s Radosław Sikorski and China’s Wang Yi in Helenów outside Warsaw.
Poultry exports were halted in 2020, briefly reopened, and were blocked again in 2024 after new bird flu outbreaks, he said.
Wroński added that Sikorski accepted an invitation to visit China. He also said the Chinese side declared it would back Poland’s entry into the G20 should such a proposal be tabled. The G20 gathers 19 countries along with the EU and African Union, representing a large share of global output and trade, he noted.
According to Wroński, both sides endorsed principles of the international order rooted in the U.N. Charter, including respect for territorial sovereignty, saying these should guide efforts to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine.
Russian drones, Belarus border closure
Poland also raised “destructive” Russian actions and said it expects Chinese countermeasures toward Moscow and Minsk. The discussion covered last week’s incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace, which Warsaw views as a test of Poland’s and NATO’s response, Wroński said.
Relations with Belarus and Poland’s closure of border crossings were also discussed. Wroński said the decision is costly but necessary given repeated provocations. Asked about the price of the closure for Poland and China, he said security took precedence over trade and that Warsaw had not notified European partners because the move was a sovereign decision.
