An eight-strong team of doctors, nurses and paramedics from the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) have flown to the central Asian nation to support hospitals there amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The team's 10-day mission includes training local hospital staff in line with WHO guidelines and using experience gained by Polish medics during their recent stay in Italy’s Lombardy region.

“We feel honoured that the WHO has asked us to share this unique knowledge with countries that have neither the experience nor equipment to fight the coronavirus,” said Dr. Wojciech Wilk, head of the Polish Center for International Aid.
