Speaking during Wednesday’s cabinet reshuffle announcement, Tusk underlined that Poland has now become the world’s 20th largest economy and is widely recognised as a rising regional power.

The prime minister stressed that such achievements are possible in part because Poland is building the strongest military in Central and Eastern Europe.

The politician noted that Poland currently has the second-largest army among NATO member states in Europe and, while much work remains, he added: “No one has the right to underestimate Poland - and no one will.”

Tusk also referenced recent assessments by senior U.S. NATO commanders suggesting that a direct military threat from Russian aggression could emerge as early as 2027.

The prime minister confirmed that this issue will be a key focus of his upcoming talks with General Grynkewich.
