Poland’s Foreign Ministry said EU foreign ministers are set to discuss support for Ukraine following Russia’s aggression, the 18th package of sanctions against Moscow, hybrid threats, the situation in the Middle East and Georgia, as well as the new Pact and reforms of the Union for the Mediterranean.

On Friday, the ambassadors of EU member states failed to reach an agreement on the bloc’s 18th package of sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

Approval requires unanimous consent among all EU countries, but Slovakia has made its support conditional on guarantees about future gas supplies.

The new sanctions are set to target companies linked to the Nord Stream pipeline, additional Russian banks, and more vessels from the so-called shadow fleet.

The package also includes a ban on exporting products critical to Russia’s arms industry and proposes a new price cap on Russian oil.
