Polish economy grows 5.3% in Q2 2022: flash estimate

The Polish economy grew 5.3 percent in the second quarter of this year, the country’s statistics office said on Wednesday in a flash estimate.

The figure was 0.7 percentage points lower than forecast by economists polled by state news agency PAP.

Poland's gross domestic product expanded by 8.5 percent in the first quarter of 2022, according to the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency.

The European Commission last month raised its forecast for Polish economic growth this year to 5.2 percent, from a previous projection of 3.7 percent.

The Polish statistics office is expected to report full second-quarter data on August 31.
