The EU’s executive last Wednesday predicted that the Polish economy will expand 3.4 percent next year, 0.2 percentage points more than it expected in February.

"Europe can look forward to a return to modest growth rates, picking up further in 2025," the European Commission said in its Spring 2024 Economic Forecast.

"The stage is set for a gradual expansion of economic activity after a challenging 2023, better-than-expected growth in early 2024 and the ongoing decline in inflation," it added.

International ratings agency Fitch said earlier this month that it expects Polish GDP growth to be 2.8 percent this year, followed by 3.2 percent in 2025.

Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domański said last month that Poland’s economy was on track to grow 3.1 percent this year and 3.7 percent in 2025.

Poland’s central bank in March predicted that the Polish economy would expand 3.5 percent this year, followed by 4.2 percent growth in 2025 and 3.3 percent in 2026.

Polish President Andrzej Duda in late January signed into law the country’s budget for 2024, which expects the economy to grow 3 percent this year.

Poland's gross domestic product expanded by 0.2 percent in 2023, after growing 5.6 percent in 2022, according to the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency.
