InPost said the deal will speed expansion of its logistics network across Europe, with more than 20,000 battery units to be installed within five years. First devices are operating in France and the United Kingdom; Italy, Portugal and Spain are due to follow by year-end.
Alongside the long-term supply agreement, InPost will acquire a minority shareholding in Bloq.it, which will provide end-to-end delivery and network management services for the Next machines as well as expert support.
The Next lockers run on batteries designed to operate six to 12 months without charging and have a 10-year lifespan, InPost said.
“The strategic investment in Bloq.it is a true game changer for our European expansion… enabling installations in previously inaccessible locations. We expect a positive impact on growth dynamics and long-term profitability,” founder and CEO Rafał Brzoska said in the statement.
Bloq.it CEO Miha Jagodic said the partnership aims to speed Europe’s shift to out-of-home deliveries by deploying off-grid machines “where people live and work.”
InPost currently operates more than 88,600 out-of-home (OOH) points in nine European countries, including over 54,300 parcel lockers. In 2025, it plans to add more than 14,000 lockers: about 3,000 in Poland, 4,000 in France and the Benelux, 4,500 in the UK, 2,000 on the Iberian Peninsula and about 1,000 in Italy.
