The Polish daily Rzeczpospolita reported that the incident could have caused a major disaster at one of the country’s largest rail hubs.
Its sources suggested the operation appeared planned and said it was “only by chance” that a tragedy was avoided.
Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak told TVN24 on Friday that prosecutors and specialised security services are analysing the case.
The politician said the way the tracks were dismantled indicated deliberate action by professionals.
