Users reported problems with apps and platforms including Snapchat, Fortnite, Roblox, Duolingo, Tidal, Epic Games Store, as well as banking and government websites.

In Poland, services such as Poczta Polska and mBank were affected.

The outage was traced to Amazon Web Services (AWS), which hosts a large portion of the internet’s infrastructure.

Amazon quickly acknowledged the issue, initially reporting increased errors and delays in its US-EAST-1 region. By late morning, the company said the root cause had been identified and recovery was underway.

“We are working on multiple parallel paths to accelerate recovery,” Amazon added, advising users to retry failed requests as services gradually return.

CNN confirmed that the company plans to provide further updates as work continues.
