Poland and Estonia warn of Russian airspace violations at UN Security Council meeting

Tensions between NATO and Russia have escalated following multiple violations of alliance airspace.

On Monday, during a special UN Security Council meeting, European countries and the United States strongly condemned Russia’s actions, describing them as deliberate provocations or reckless behaviour.

Poland, which recently intercepted 21 Russian drones over its territory, has highlighted the growing threat. Defence Minister Radosław Sikorski warned that any unauthorized incursions could trigger defensive responses.

Similar violations were reported in Estonia and across the Baltic region, involving Russian reconnaissance aircraft and fighter jets flying without flight plans or communication with air traffic control.
