The farm, set to start operating later this year, is expected to supply power for tens of thousands of households. Under a 19-year agreement, Apple will buy around 75% of the farm’s output.
The deal is part of the company’s broader European renewable energy programme, which also includes projects in Spain, Romania, and Italy. Apple signed the agreement with Israeli firm Ecoenergy through a virtual Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), a common long-term contract in the renewable energy sector.
Apple Vice President Lisa Jackson told Rzeczpospolita that the agreement was “key to securing financing for the construction of the farm.”
