The route will be LOT’s fourth destination in Italy, joining Rome, Venice and Milan.
Flights will operate six times a week.
Departures from Warsaw are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and for 3:15 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Return flights from Bologna will take off at 11:40 a.m. and 6:25 p.m. on the same days.
The flight time will be about two hours and 10 minutes, the carrier said on Tuesday.
“Bologna is the heart of Europe’s academic world, a city of remarkable architecture and authentic Italian cuisine,” said Robert Ludera, LOT’s director of route network planning.
“It’s also a perfect gateway for discovering Italy—from the Adriatic coast and Tuscany to major Italian cities, all easily accessible thanks to the country’s extensive rail and highway network.”
LOT said the new connection complements its existing Italian network and will be operated with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Tickets for the new route are already available through all sales channels, the airline said.
Founded in 1929, LOT is one of the world’s oldest airlines. It provides flights across Europe and direct long-haul services to destinations in the United States, Canada, India, Japan and South Korea.
