Sales of Chinese-made cars in Poland have surged fivefold in the first three quarters of 2025, and their number on Polish roads could reach one million within the next three years, daily Rzeczpospolita reported on Tuesday.

According to data from the Polish Automotive Industry Association (PZPM) cited by the daily, more than 28,900 new passenger cars produced in China were registered in Poland between January and September this year, compared with just over 5,700 in the same period of 2024.

As a result, the market share of Chinese-made cars rose from 1.4 percent in the first nine months of 2024 to 6.8 percent over the same period in 2025.

"This pace of growth could see Chinese manufacturers dominate Poland’s new car market in the coming years," Rzeczpospolita wrote.

Kamil Makula, CEO of Superauto.pl, told the paper he expects the number of Chinese-brand vehicles sold in Poland to reach one million by 2028.

The daily noted that the surge in sales of Chinese cars is outpacing that of traditional popular brands.

Omoda, which ranked 22nd in a September popularity list by the Samar Institute, increased its sales by more than 1,400 percent year-on-year, selling more than two and a half times as many cars as Fiat in September.

Meanwhile, Jaecoo went from registering just seven cars in the first three quarters of 2024 to over 4,200 in the same period this year, gaining nearly 1 percent of the Polish market — more than Honda or Seat.

"China’s government has identified the automotive sector as strategic and is pushing to expand exports. Manufacturing costs in China remain significantly lower," PZPM president Jakub Faryś told Rzeczpospolita.

The paper added that rising demand for Chinese cars is being driven primarily by private buyers, who are increasingly opting for affordable new vehicles from China rather than used cars from established Western brands.
