77 percent of Poles go online regularly
Over the past two years, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the share of the Polish population who engage with the internet regularly rose by 9 percentage points - from 68 to 77 percent.
As recently as 2002, only 17 percent of Poles reported using the internet regularly, PAP noted.
For the purposes of the poll, regular internet engagement was defined as visiting websites, using messaging apps or using email, at least once a week.
The survey was conducted by the pollster CBOS in May, on a representative sample of 1,087 adult residents of Poland.
The methods used were: computer-assisted personal interviews (for 58.9 percent of the sample), computer-assisted telephone interviews (28.7 percent) and computer-assisted web interviews (12.4 percent).
