Senate’s message to students
“Congratulations to everyone finishing the school year today! After months of learning, hard work, and new opportunities, you have every reason to be proud of yourselves. Now it’s time for a well-deserved rest. We wish you a wonderful summer holiday full of sunshine and adventure,” the Senate of the Republic of Poland, the upper house of the Polish parliament, conveyed on social media.

Education minister praises schools and teachers
Education Minister Barbara Nowacka, before attending Friday's ceremony at school in Nysa, southwestern Poland, addressed students in an official letter, thanking them for their perseverance throughout the school year.
“Your successes are my greatest source of pride,” she wrote. The minister also praised teachers for their “commitment and passion in fulfilling their calling, inspiring children and young people to develop holistically, and providing them with the necessary support.”
In Poland, the final day of the school year is marked by distinctive ceremonies where students perform songs, dramatic recitations, and other acts celebrating both academic and personal achievements.
These events culminate with the distribution of report cards, including the prestigious “red stripe” awards - special certificates given to the highest achievers.
It is a long-standing custom for students to present flowers or sweets to their teachers, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their dedication and support throughout the year. These rituals provide meaningful closure to the academic year, blending celebration with appreciation before the summer break begins.
