Śliwińska also set a new Paralympics record with her winning throw of 8,75 meters.

She beat Tunisia's Nourhein Belhaj Salem, while Nigeria's Lauritta Onye took the bronze.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Sports Minister Piotr Gliński took to Twitter to congratulate her on the performance.

Poland has so far collected 24 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics, seven gold, six silver and 11 bronze.

But one of the bronzes, won by visually impaired track cyclist Marcin Polak and his sighted pilot Michał Ładosz on the first day of competition in Tokyo, is clouded by doping allegations.

The Tokyo Paralympic Games conclude on Sunday.
