Polish female climber attempts K2 winter ascent

Young Polish female climber Magdalena Gorzkowska is attempting a winter ascent of K2, the world’s second tallest mountain and one of the last great challenges in the world of high-altitude mountaineering.

“A good weather window ahead of us, allowing us a few days to attempt the summit… tomorrow we are making it to Camp 2, taking a short break at Camp 3 and then all the way to the summit,” Gorzkowska said.
