She received EUR 30,000 in prize money.
Second prize and EUR 15,000 went to Elia Cecino of Italy, and third prize with EUR 7,000 was awarded to Pin-Hong Lin from Taiwan.
Roh, 24, is studying for her master degree at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
She has several honours to her name, including second prize at the 2024 Borderland Chopin International Competition in the United States and Mexico. In 2021, she was a semifinalist at the Leeds International Piano Competition in Britain.
The remaining finalists were South Korea’s Jiyoung Kim and Shuhei Aoshima from Japan, winning fourth and fifth prizes respectively.
The top three pianists are set to perform at a prizewinners’ concert at the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw on Monday.
Launched in 1961, the Paderewski Competition is held every three years. Its latest, 13th edition, attracted 43 pianists from 13 countries, who were selected in preliminary rounds from more than 240 candidates representing 36 countries.
The event is a member of the Geneva-based World Federation of International Music Competitions.
It aims to promote the legacy of the celebrated Polish pianist and composer Ignacy Jan Paderewski.
