She received EUR 10,000 in prize money.

First prize of EUR 20,000 and a professional concert engagement went to 23-year-old South African violinist Jordan Brooks, while 22-year-old American violinist Dylan Hamme took third prize of EUR 5,000.

Podorska, 24, is deputy concertmaster of the Leopoldinum Orchestra at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, southwestern Poland. She is also pursuing her doctorate at the city's Music Academy.

The competition was part of a festival celebrating the legacy of Joseph Bologne, a prominent 18th-century French violinist, conductor and composer.

A highly versatile figure, Bologne was also an accomplished fencer, athlete and dancer.
