His recent honours include first prize at the Texas Piano Concerto Competition and second prize at the Hilton Head Piano Competition in the United States. He was also a semifinalist at this year’s Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas.
Alexewicz has performed at venues including the Berlin Philharmonic, Salle Cortot in Paris, Sala São Paulo, the Warsaw Philharmonic and Symphony Hall in Osaka.
He has recorded two albums for Poland’s Fryderyk Chopin Institute. A third, featuring Chopin’s Preludes, Op. 28, and Sonata in B-flat Minor, Op. 35, is scheduled for release next year.
As a child, Alexewicz played the violin and guitar and sang with the boys’ choir of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław.
He now lives in Switzerland but regularly travels to Wrocław, where he teaches at his alma mater.
