The “Atlas of Poles and Polish Communities Abroad” shows where Poles live, work, and contribute to local societies and economies.

Tracking Poles across 138 countries

The dashboard is the first of its kind to present a comprehensive overview of more than 22 million Poles across 138 countries, alongside thousands of institutions and organisations supporting Polish life abroad.

According to the data compiled by GUS and published through MSZ, the largest Polish communities are in the United States (around 10 million), Brazil (3 million), Germany (over 2 million), the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland (over 1 million), and France and Canada (around 1 million each).

The atlas highlights nearly 3,300 locations of cultural and educational significance, including Polish schools in 509 towns, community centres, associations, foundations, and religious institutions where Polish-language services are held.

It also records cemeteries and memorials that commemorate Polish migration.

A window into the Polish diaspora

Users can explore information on Polish media outlets - from newspapers to TV channels and online portals - and 72 Polish-linked chambers of commerce and economic organisations that support trade and entrepreneurship worldwide.

The dashboard allows filtering by continent, country, or category, presents data in tables, and enables downloads in Excel format.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and GUS say the tool is designed for researchers, journalists, and anyone interested in understanding the global presence of Poland and its communities.
