The programme features American music, including George Gershwin’s An American in Paris, as well as selections from popular musicals and film scores such as John Williams’ Star Wars trilogy, Hans Zimmer’s The Lion King and Klaus Badelt’s Pirates of the Caribbean symphonic suite.

The band performs under the direction of Capt. Michael P. Flynn.

The Kielce concert is the ensemble’s penultimate stop on its Polish tour, following performances in Legnica, Bolesławiec and Wrocław in the southwest, and Częstochowa and Kraków in the south.

In a related event, Sgt. Nick Del Villano, a member of the band, performed Kraków's traditional bugle call from the tower of St. Mary’s Basilica on Monday.

He later told reporters it was a deeply moving experience. "It had been my dream ever since I visited the basilica several years ago," he said.

The band will wrap up its Polish tour on Wednesday with a concert in the southern city of Opole.

The performances are part of an international tour called "Freedom 250: American Musical Treasures," marking the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence.

The United States Air Forces in Europe Band was founded in 1943 as an initiative by the celebrated conductor Glenn Miller to boost troop morale during World War II. Now based at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, it is made up of 45 active-duty Air Force musicians.
