Speaking in an interview with Polish public broadcaster TVP on Wednesday evening, Andrzej Duda said: “The standards of international law must be complied with.”

'Russia should give back' Donetsk, Luhansk, Crimea

The Polish head of state added: “This means that Ukraine should return to its internationally recognised borders, and Russia must withdraw from all the territory it has captured.”

“So Russia should give back the Donetsk oblast, the Luhansk oblast and the Crimean peninsula,” Duda told TVP, adding that "Russia brutally seized these territories, violating all rules."

‘International order must be based on law’

Duda also said in the interview that countries "must respect the rules they have subscribed to," such as the Charter of the United Nations.

He stressed that "if international law were not to apply to empires,” such a scenario would effectively mean “no rules,” which he said would “end badly.”

The Polish president went on to state: “The international order must be based on law, because international law guarantees peace. If it is complied with, there will be peace.”

Thursday is day 92 of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
