The facility was unveiled by Michał Dworczyk, chief of staff to Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, state news agency PAP reported.
Dworczyk told reporters that Poland planned to provide temporary housing for 20,000 of Ukraine’s internal refugees, including 4,000 in the Kyiv region.
He said: “The next centres will be built in the cities of Irpin and Hostomel, where Russian forces smashed many residential buildings, destroying the life’s work of many people.”
The emergency accommodation in Bucha is located near a school and will house 22 families, officials told reporters.
Ukraine’s Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov said: “I thank the Polish government and Polish society. The level of your support for Ukraine is unprecedented.”
Earlier this month, the Polish prime minister unveiled temporary accommodation for internally displaced Ukrainians in nearby Borodyanka.
In April, officials cut the ribbon on a similar project in the western city of Lviv.
Dworczyk on Friday met with the displaced people of Bucha. “These people fled only to learn the next day that their homes had been razed to the ground,” he said.
He added that "the stories of Bucha’s refugees are horrifying.”
Between late February and early April, invading Russian forces conducted mass civilian killings in Bucha, with the death toll exceeding 460 people, the PAP news agency reported.
Friday was day 121 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
