According to the Ukrainska Pravda news portal, the attack on the Epicentr hypermarket resulted in 16 deaths and 43 injuries.

As a sign of mourning, state flags adorned with black ribbons will be lowered to half-mast on buildings of local authorities, businesses, institutions, and organizations. Additionally, the broadcasting of popular music in markets and other commercial establishments will be prohibited.

On the same day, May 25, another Russian attack on the city center of Kharkiv injured 25 people.

Intense Russian offensive in Donbass and northeast Ukraine

Russian troops continue their intense attacks in the Donbass region, with Ukrainian forces defending against the offensive in the northeast border region of Kharkiv. Both Ukrainian authorities and analysts suggest that the Kremlin may open another front on the border between the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.

Data from the Deep State portal indicates that Russian forces have made minor advances in eight sections of the frontline over the past 24 hours, primarily in Donbass. These advances range from a few hundred meters to a kilometer, particularly west of Avdiyivka and Bakhmut, and near the strategically important town of Verkhiv Yar.

In the northern fringes of the Kharkiv region, fighting persists in Vovchansk, which has been under Russian attack for more than two weeks.
