Poland takes centre stage at Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 as vital aid hub

Rome is hosting the second day of a major conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction. Yesterday, President Zelensky highlighted Poland’s crucial role as a hub for military and humanitarian aid.

Political leaders, divided into thematic working groups, have been focusing since this morning on finalizing agreements and shaping strategies to continue supporting Ukraine and rebuild the war-torn country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that 200 pre-arranged agreements worth €10 billion will be signed, along with many additional new deals.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU executive will release €10 billion to boost investment and reconstruction efforts in Ukraine.

Germany pledged to buy American-made Patriot missiles and deliver them to Ukraine, while the UK signed an agreement to provide 5,000 Thales air defense missiles. Spain also committed €840 million in support.

Poland remains a key hub for international aid to Ukraine, says Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met yesterday with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

“I thanked him for Poland’s defense support, participation in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, and joining the European Flagship Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine,” Zelensky noted, sharing information about the meeting with the head of the Polish government.

“We discussed the battlefield situation and Ukraine’s defense needs. A top priority is the development of defense production. We are interested in cooperating with Poland within the SAFE program and other initiatives for joint procurement and weapons manufacturing,” added Zelensky.

“It is important that Poland remains a key logistical and transit hub for international assistance to Ukraine,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
