According to Polish Radio’s IAR news agency, Jolie’s visit to the southern Ukrainian city included humanitarian deliveries to hospitals and meetings with local officials.

Local outlets published photos showing the actress with children in Kherson’s medical facilities, as well as brief video clips of her discussions with city authorities.

The agency noted that Kherson remains under constant Russian shelling from positions just across the Dnipro River.

This is Jolie’s second visit to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion - her previous trip took place in the spring of 2022, when she brought aid to Lviv.

As reported by Reuters, Jolie also toured the neighbouring Mykolaiv region with the support of the UK-based Legacy of War Foundation, meeting medical staff, volunteers, and families sheltering underground.

“At a time when governments around the world are turning their backs on the protection of civilians, their strength and their support for each other is humbling,” she said in a statement released by the foundation.

Photos showed Jolie wearing a flak jacket in a basement while meeting children in a windowless room.

Reuters added that Kherson, once home to nearly 300,000 people, remains within range of Russian frontline weapons and faces relentless bombardment. Local officials said Ukrainian forces intercepted more than 2,500 Russian drones targeting the region last week.

Jolie’s previous post-invasion visit took place on 30 April 2022 in Lviv, where she met refugees, volunteers, and children evacuated from Donetsk Oblast.

No verified records indicate visits to Ukraine before the 2022 full-scale invasion, though she has long supported UNHCR humanitarian efforts in conflict zones worldwide.
