Passenger numbers up for Warsaw airport

Warsaw’s Chopin Airport was used by 1.35 million passengers in January, 13.1 percent up on the same month in 2019, officials have said.

A total of 1.214 million people flocked through the airport on international flights in January, 13.7 percent more than in the same month last year, according to the state-owned Porty Lotnicze enterprise, which manages Chopin Airport.

Meanwhile, 136,000 passengers flew on domestic Polish routes, 8.6 percent up year on year.

London, Kiev, Paris, Frankfurt and Doha were the most popular scheduled destinations in January, state news agency PAP reported.

Chopin Airport handled a record 18.8 million passengers in the whole of 2019, 6.2 percent more than the previous year.
