Poland confirms 52 new coronavirus cases, no new deaths

Poland on Monday reported 52 new coronavirus infections and - for the first time in over a year - no new deaths related to COVID-19, in a further sign that the epidemic is ebbing in the country.

The latest infections bring Poland’s total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,879,689, while the death toll stands at 74,979.

Of the new cases confirmed on Monday Sunday, the most—10—were in the Mazowieckie province, which is home to the capital, Warsaw.

On April 8the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.

On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country early last year.

Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
