"We are profoundly shocked by Russia's attack on independent and sovereign Ukraine, we Poles stand with you and will continue to help as long as it is necessary," said First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda at a meeting with a group of refugees from Ukraine.

The President's Office tweeted on Saturday that meetings had been organized in Bojanów (Subcarpathia, southern Poland), Dwikozy and Obrazów (Świętokrzyskie voivodship, mid-south).

Agata Kornhauser-Duda said that the refugees will be given support at all levels: from presidential and governmental, to legal, local and grass-roots.

She assured of people's absolute solidarity and said she was moved to see how Poles have united over all divisions to help.

The First Lady also said that President Andrzej Duda remained in contact with the President of Ukraine. "It is greatly important not to lose hope. Ukrainians should be proud of their defenders, we are all awed by their fortitute and spirit. We are all praying for peace and doing our utmost to end the war," she said.

The President's Chancellery informs that Bojanów has given shelter to children from a home outside Mariupol. Obrazów and Dwikozy host refugees from Fastiv.

On Friday also Polish President Andrzej Duda visited the border crossing with Ukraine at Korczowa–Krakowiec.
