Refugees have been arriving in the country ever since Russia launched its assault on Ukraine on 24 February.

On Monday, 141,500 people were cleared by Polish Border Guard officers, the agency said in a tweet, noting the figure was smaller than on Sunday.

A further 35,300 refugees arrived from Ukraine by 7am on Tuesday morning, 16 percent fewer than on Monday morning, the Polish Border Guard added.

The Polish government on Sunday launched a special online platform to coordinate humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine by local authorities, nongovernmental organizations, foundations and private businesses.

The platform will operate as part of the existing pomagamukrainie.gov.pl website, officials said.
