The support package was outlined by Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moskwa, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency PAP reported.
Earlier, the government had extended reduced natural gas rates for households until 2027 and introduced a one-off allowance of PLN 3,000 (EUR 637, USD 648) for those who use coal for heating.
That bill has been approved by parliament and now heads to President Andrzej Duda for signature.
Help for non-coal-heating households
The new proposal, meanwhile, offers support to all the remaining households, Moskwa told a news conference.
Under the government’s plan, those who use heat from small-scale heating plants will get a one-off allowance of between PLN 1,000 (EUR 212) and PLN 3,900 (EUR 829).
Households that use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for heating will be eligible for a one-off benefit of PLN 500 (EUR 106), and those that use wood chips will be offered PLN 1,000 (EUR 212), Moskwa said.
Meanwhile, families using heating oil will receive a one-off allowance of PLN 2,000 (EUR 425), and those that use pellets as fuel will be eligible for PLN 3,000 (EUR 637), she added.
The new support package is worth PLN 9.1 billion (EUR 1.9 billion), Moskwa announced.
Lawmakers are set to debate the proposal next month, she added.
Meanwhile, prices for heat from networks will not be allowed to rise by more than 40 percent, reporters were also told.
