The suspension of flights follows the tragic crash of an F-16 fighter jet from the Tiger Demo Team at Radom Airport on August 28, during rehearsals for the Air Show. The pilot, Major Maciej Krakowian, known as “Slab,” was killed on impact.

International air shows had been scheduled at Radom Airport on August 30 and 31. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that this year’s events have been canceled due to the accident.

The airport expressed its deepest condolences to the pilot’s family and friends and said its thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragedy.
