Latvia’s new president to visit Warsaw

The new president of Latvia, Egils Levits, was on Wednesday expected to visit Warsaw for talks with Polish officials.

While in the Polish capital, Levits was scheduled to meet with President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the Speakers of both houses of parliament.

The talks were expected to focus on bilateral relations and regional security, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Levits took office as Latvia’s president in July.
