Poland backs NATO, EU bids by North Macedonia

Poland supports North Macedonia in its efforts to join NATO and the European Union, Polish President Andrzej Duda said after talks with the Balkan country’s leader, Stevo Pendarovski, in Warsaw on Tuesday.

“Poland supports the EU aspirations of North Macedonia,” Duda declared at a joint press conference with his visiting counterpart.

He added: “Poland believes that the door to European Union membership should remain open for countries that aspire to join this community.”

The Polish president also said that “in the context of Great Britain leaving the bloc, it is especially important to see that the EU is an attractive project and that new countries want to join ...”
