The meeting is to assess further measures that the Western military alliance and allies can take to step up a collective fight against the virus. Poland is represented by its foreign minister, Jacek Czaputowicz.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told a press conference ahead of the one-day meeting: “NATO is doing its part to help in this common fight against an invisible enemy.”
“These are unprecedented times,” said Stoltenberg during the conference, adding: “The coronavirus outbreak has made it clear that many of the challenges we face are too great for any one nation or organization to face alone.”
