The meeting would focus on "Russian acts of sabotage in the Czech Republic, Russia's escalation of the situation in Ukraine and Belarus, and V4 cooperation in strengthening security in the region," said Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

The video conference was initiated by Morawiecki and brought together the prime ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, which together form a four-nation regional cooperation platform known as the Visegrad Group, or V4.

Top diplomats from Poland, Slovakia and Hungary last week voiced solidarity with the Czech Republic amid tensions with Russia.

That move came after Prague announced the expulsion of 18 Russian diplomats over suspicions that Russian military intelligence officers were involved in the explosion of an ammunition depot in the Czech Republic in 2014.

The Polish foreign ministry has previously voiced "full support" for the Czech decision.
