Sikorski offers condolences to family of Pole killed by Israeli army and calls for investigation

Following the death of a Polish humanitarian worker in Gaza, Poland's foreign minister has called on Israel to allow an independent investigation into the Israeli attack which hit an international humanitarian convoy in the Gaza Strip.

As we reported earlier today, one Polish aid worker was among the seven killed in Gaza when their humanitarian convoy was hit during an Israeli air strike. 

Poland's Minister for Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski has since spoken to his Israeli counterpart, Israel Katz, calling for an in independent investigation into the attack. 

Sikorski spoke to Katz on Tuesday afternoon concerning the Polish volunteer who died. The Polish foreign minister emphasized Poland's shock at the death of seven workers from the organisation World Central Kitchen:

Sikorski stressed that the Israeli army had already taken responsibility for the attack.
