“That is a record number of registered stores. Today we can say that a real boom in e-commerce is taking place,” Tomasz Starzyk, spokesman of Bisnode, was quoted as saying by the daily.
According to Rzeczpospolita, more and more Poles choose e-commerce over traditional ways of shopping due to a much wider choice of products and services at lower prices.
Around 60 percent of adult Poles shop online, the daily reported, quoting a study by trade federations EuroCommerce and Ecommerce Europe.
Poles' online spending is also expected to grow by 25 percent this year, the report said.
The increase will result in the value of the country’s e-commerce market reaching the level of Switzerland, the study has found.
