The project will cost over PLN 1 billion (USD 254 million, EUR 228 million), Morawiecki said on Monday during a visit to the site.

The Opel factory in Gliwice has been manufacturing passenger cars for over 20 years.

French multinational manufacturer PSA Group plans to start producing large delivery vehicles there by the end of 2021, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

The PSA Group in 2017 bought European plants producing Opel and Vauxhall models from giant US automaker General Motors.
