The two-day World Investment Conference, co-hosted by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), has been billed as the planet's largest annual investment gathering.

The event was held on Monday and Tuesday by the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) to discuss the future of foreign direct investment (FDI) internationally.

Krzysztof Senger, Executive Vice-President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, has hailed the event as "a great opportunity for Poland to share the best practices of working with investors from around the world.”

The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies is an international nongovernmental organisation established in 1995 by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The 24th WAIPA World Investment Conference in Warsaw on October 7 and 8 focused on the prospects, challenges and role of foreign direct investment, the impact of digitisation on FDI flows and new models of carrying out investment projects.

Participants included top international managers and representatives from organisations such as the OECD, UNCTAD, the World Bank and UNIDO.

The Polish Investment and Trade Agency seeks to support the foreign expansion of Polish businesses and the inflow of FDI to Poland. It also aims to boost Polish exports.

Poland leads the way in Central and Eastern Europe in attracting FDI.
