Trade surplus for Poland in first eight months of 2019: stats office

Poland had a foreign trade surplus of around PLN 400 million in the first eight months of this year, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) has reported.

In the same period last year, Poland's foreign trade showed a deficit of PLN 12.3 billion, the statistical office said.

Poland’s exports from the beginning of this year to the end of August totaled PLN 657.6 billion, while imports were worth PLN 657.2 billion, according to the statistics agency.

Poland’s largest export markets are Germany, the Czech Republic and Britain, while Germany, China and Russia are the country’s largest import markets, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported.
