The figure given by the ministry on Thursday was unchanged from its earlier estimates for October and September.

The country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) last month put the October joblessness figure at 5 percent.

The labour ministry said on Thursday that over the last year the number of people without jobs in Poland has dropped by almost 100,000.

In November 2018, unemployment in the country stood at 5.7 percent, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The European Union's Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, said last month that unemployment in Poland was a modest 3.2 percent in October, the third-lowest rate in the 28-nation European Union.
